An Actor With Versatility- Hrithik Roshan
April 8, 2011Each year there will be a number of actors and actresses who try their luck in Hindi film industry, however only a few manage to get through the tough test of talent and luck. Hrithik Roshan (son of filmmaker and producer Rakesh Roshan), was a debutant who proved his acting ability.
Hrithik entered the film industry when he was a child and acted in Aasha, Bhagwan Dada and Apke Deewane in the’80s. He would be one among those lucky newcomers, who got a very good opening in their acting career and a good comments from film critics too. His first movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai released in 2000, fetched him the chance to enact two roles. In addition to becoming a huge success commercially, the film received many awards also.
Hrithik Roshan became a star overnight and he also got the trophies for best debut actor and best actor of the year. The movie was included in Limca Book of Records for the number of honors it bagged in a single year. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai had received a total of 102 awards for itself.
In 2000, he was cast in films like Mission Kashmir and Fiza by the film directors Khalid Mohammed and Vidhu Vinod Chopra. His performances were rated as good by critics and he kept his performances up to the mark in the next year too. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham also proved to be a success at the box office and even became the 2nd biggest grosser of the year.
He acted with Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, some of the established stars in the industry. The year 2002 could not bring him luck as several of his films failed to entertain audience and he became less popular. However in the year 2003, he rose to stardom as his film Koi Mil Gaya along with Preity Zinta succeeded, in which he portrayed the role of person who is developmentally disabled. He performed the role of a man with careless attitude who transforms to a determined individual in the film Lakshya, from Farhan Akhtar, reinforcing his talent to handle any type of role.
Hrithik took a break from his acting career for 2 years and resurfaced with his super hero avatar with Krrish, the second part of Koi Mil Gaya and he did 2 roles in this. Family audience adored the new stylish avatar of Hrithik as a superhero. With Dhoom rated as a good movie by the audience, his good times continued.
In Luck By Chance and Jodha Akbar, film goers saw him in performance oriented roles. He was critically acclaimed for performing the role of Ethan Mascarenhas in the movie Guzaarish. Audiences are awaiting his forthcoming films Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Krrish 2. Hrithik Roshan lives in Mumbai along with his 2 children and wife Suzanne.
