Green house effect, global warming and floods are among the problems faced by most countries today. This phenomenon destroys millions and millions of dollars and is making life on earth unbearable. Do you wonder what causes all of this? It is something that we humans did, tree population depletion. Wood is a basic necessity among humans since primitive times. This world famous material is responsible for the creation of the first homes since ancient times and is still used until today because of its undeniable strength and durability plus its abundance. It is used most commonly during the industrial revolution in the major cities around the world.

It is a close relative family of reclaimed woods, the longleaf heart pine is a much popular specie than its close relative. It is commonly used in barns that accidentally and due to serendipity, helped preserved the said specie. This specie has an innate property that protects itself from pests and parasites not to mention fungal attacks. This is the property that separates it from other species.

Another previously important breed of wood is the American chestnut. In 1904 chestnut blight (a pest) spread across the U. S killing American Chestnuts. Before these precious woods were destroyed they were used to build barns and pig pens. By these, it helped preserved the woods for later reuse when the said structures were dismantled in order to harness the said important materials needed for construction.

Barns were the most common source of reclaiming woods in the United States of America. Barns that were built during the later part of the 19th century were made of trees of great variety. They use whatever can be found in the forests and use it. These things usually have a mixture of chestnut, oak, redwood, hickory, and the famous maple tree.

Trees are the greatest oxygen suppliers of this planet. Without these magnificent creatures our world most especially Los Angeles would be lifeless and will look like a hug desert. There will be nothing to stop floods and make the temperature cool. Therefore we must use reclaimed woods instead using freshly cut lumber. Thank Los Angeles for that.
