She gained the reputation of being a good model. In 2000, she took part in Beauty Pageant after appearing in some ads. Debut in Movie Industry.
With Thamizhan as her first movie, she kick started her film career in 2002 and it was a sudden move from modeling. She has also given her voice for the song Ullathai Killadhe. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta starrer movie The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, was her first movie in Hindi. The film was one of the highest grossing movies of the year and her performance got good comments. She bagged the Filmfare Best Debutant Award for this movie. She was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the same movie. Her following films got mixed responses from viewers as well as film critics but all knew she was there to stay for a long time.
Journey to National Film Awards.
In the year 2008, popular director Madhur Bhandarkar made the film Fashion, which featured Kangana Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka through the character of Meghna Mathur gave a remarkable performance in the film. She is an ambitious girl from a town, who goes to Mumbai and becomes a super model however some incidents changes her life fully. The transformation has been shown well by her. For her role in the film, she won the best actress award in National Film Awards and the Filmfare Awards.
Forthcoming films in Bollywood.
Because she has proved her acting talent in all her films, her forthcoming films are being awaited by all her fans. Saat Khoon Maaf, the film inspired from Ruskin Bond’s short story, narrates the life of an Anglo-Indian woman who goes on to kill her seven husbands. It’s a thriller and Priyanka appears in seven unique roles! Definitely, this one can be called as one of the best films in her acting career.
In addition to Saat Khoon Maaf, she will also be seen with Badshah of Hindi movie industry, Shah Rukh Khan in Don 2- The Chase Continues. Priyanka will act in the movie as Roma. Followers are eagerly awaiting the release of this movie.
